School Mural 05

The Year 7 students of OLA painted a mural for the back of their portrack....they just needed some help putting it all together. I outlined the whole picture (every bubble!!), in black enamel....took nearly 4 days....but it looked great!! What a gift to give your school!

"Coral over Time" 30cmx76cm $450

This is one of those paintings, that just had to be painted straight after it popped into my head. The inspiration was the millions and millions of pieces of coral, that lined the shore line near the passenger ferry dock on Stradbroke Island. It was amazing looking at all the shapes, colours and sizes, and imagining what it had looked like before. It makes you think about time...life....how we are just one small part of something so big....

This painting represents a very special lady. The two distinct areas of dots symbolize the heart and brain. She is intelligent, a thinker, and she listens to her inner voice, which is symbolized by the small white area with orange lines of dots. Her powerful mind is linked to her heart, and she has great capacity for love. However, she has also known sadness (the small white areas with burgundy dots).

Each of the three purple circles represents you. The red, green and orange circles represent people with whom you come into contact during your life. The white dotted circles are life events.

Every event in your life and every person that you encounter leaves an impression upon you. As you journey through life you carry those experiences with you.

This, then develops, changes and enhances the person you become i.e the compilation circle at the top right hand corner of the painting.

You may see the rainbow effect, signifying I suppose the ascent to heaven. The combined outline of each journey can also been seen as your soul.

One of those moments of clarity and lightness.....you are driving along listening to your favourite "singing along driving" music....everything about your life right at that moment, feels exactly right. It might not actually be....but it certainly feels like it...right then. You tap the steering wheel, you look at the scenery, you sing like no-one is listening...and you wouldn't even care if they were. Your whole body feels light, like there is no effort at all to just be. You feel like you are blessed, nothing can spoil this feeling....

"Last night I had the strangest dream...." 122cmx30cm $1800

You know the mornings...you wake up, and it feels so real...but it can't be....the dream was so vivid, but it was nothing.....it had so much colour, but you can only recall some of them...if any.....you had dreamt about people you have not seen for a long time, or don't even wish to see....or don't even really know.....and in a context that could not possibly be true....it was the strangest dream...but it was nice.
